FAQs About Auction Consignments!
 What do we take? Antiques, Collectibles, Farm Equipment, Vehicles, Furniture, Collections (Sports, Guns, Pottery, etc.), all Sporting Goods, Electronics….anything but Clothes or Food!!- What do we charge? - Do you do on-site auctions? Of course! Call us today for a rate.
- Will you pick my items up? Sure…but for a small charge. Please call for rates!
- Can I drop off my items? We are open Monday-Friday for drop offs and Saturday/Sunday by appointment. We do suggest that you call ahead to make sure that we are ready for you when you arrive! (217) 632-2220 or (217) 341-3738.
- Can I set a reserve price? You are welcome to set a reserve price on higher priced items such as: vehicles, farm equipment, etc. However, you may be assessed a "no-sale" fee on reserves that do not sell because of an overly high reserve price.
- Do you sell real estate? Yes, we can sell real estate, either by auction or traditional MLS. For FREE we will come out to complete a Market Analysis. We have many ways of selling your real estate at auction: Absolute, Seller Approval or Minimum Bid Absolute! Both Jeff and Kristen are licensed Real Estate Agents (Realtors) and Dr. Bob is a Real Estate Broker.

 How Do Combined (On-site and On-line) Auctions Work? All of our auctions are conducted at either our Petersburg auction house or an appropriate physical location relative to the property being auctioned. Prospective buyers arrive on-site, register for bidding, and actively participate in the live auction. However, many of our auctions also have an Internet presence. By providing our sellers with more potential buyers than any other venue, our internet auctions greatly enhance the ability to receive the best selling prices on most, if not all, items in the auction. All buyers benefit from the ability to learn more about individual items online before an auction, and local area buyers also benefit from the ability to bid online when they can not be physically present at an auction.- What Is Real-Time (Live) Online Bidding? Most auctions are also conducted with absentee or real-time on-line bidding (RTOB) through our web partner, Proxibid. Potential buyers can follow what is being offered at the sale via pictures, and/or live audio on the Internet, and may bid on those items just as if they were physically present at the auction site! If a potential buyer is interested in a Real Estate auction conducted on-line in real-time, but does not have internet available (say at a child’s ball game), they can still bid on that property, live and in real-time, via telephone proxy. To utilize this service, a potential buyer must call Tallgrass Prairie Auction and Real Estate prior to the sale, tell us the auction item number(s), and give us some information and the authority to act as their proxy. When that item is up for bid, our agents call the buyer and act as the buyer’s proxy, just as if the buyers were physically on-site themselves.
